Let me introduce myself...

I have to apologize. I didn't introduce myself in my last blog. Well, My name is Nathan. I am an animation student here at Regent. I was born here in Virginia, Norfolk to be specific. I am approaching my 26Th birthday this year. May is just around the corner. Wow,... 26...man i am getting old.

School is a bit tough especially with a full time job. I work full time for PEPSI cola. The job is great. Easy, takes my weekends and has amazing benefits. But trying to manage a 45hr a week job and doing 12 credit hrs a week I'm not left with much time to do anything. But I have passion. Passion for creating animations and create visual effects.

Since going here I haven't done much work but what I have to do for my class work. Plus I am one of the "Ginny pigs." What I mean by that is I am one of the first students who started in the schools animation program. Even tho I haven't done much series work I have managed to land some pretty sweet side jobs per say.

My first job was a blessing from God. I landed a Visual Effect Artist job from a Christian film company named DCR. They are currently filming the pre-production of John Bunyan's "The Pilgrim's Progress." Its a pretty series film and to be given an opportunity to work this company is a true blessing. My second job is more of a favor that I am doing my a good friend of mine. You might know him, his name is Joshua Mims he is one of the many talented master students that also attend here. Josh is a very talented Director and a talented actor. He's latest movie "Exmas Eve" was a pretty good film "Mad props josh!" The work I am doing is for Josh's newest development "The Bounty" its were Silent Hill meets The Fugitive. Look for it within the next month or so.

My final installment for work is with Prof. Peggy Southerland. She is giving me another great opportunity. I get to work with Child Convenient Inc. with their charity campaign "Campaign for Change." Which should be a very very promising installment.

Well I've got my work cut out for me. Wish me luck and maybe I'll see you around campus.

Later.

Hey Nathan,

Unfortunately, I can't identify much with the annimation stuff. However, you and the other annimation students seem to all have this passion for what you do. I think that it does not matter how you use the talents God has given you, only that you do it to please him with all your passion.

On another note, what do you do for Pepsi?

Kyle
